Reception class LEAP into Spring!

During our last week of Spring term,  Reception class embraced the beautiful weather and went on a Spring Hunt to look for clues that Spring is coming.

They took their clipboards and magnifying glasses and wandered down to the school garden where they found some wonderful discoveries.

“We got to see chickens and the brown one is called Ginger and I got to touch her.  She felt so soft,” said Ariana.

“I was looking for strawberries and Lidka (our Garden educator) showed me where the strawberries are growing, but they’re still in the ground.  They’re not ready to eat yet, but we can eat them in June!” explained Phoebe.

 “I ate leaves!” exclaimed Alias.

“I found a ladybird,” said Ariana.

“We saw chickens and I fed them seeds,” said Kara.

“There were so many flowers, pink and red everywhere!” said Jayden.

Reception didn’t stop there.  They have been busy in class making Spring themed rice crispy cakes, using their motor skills to spread butter on to delicious hot cross buns and decorating bunny ears and eggs ready for their Spring Egg Hunt.  With the Spring Equinox only a couple of weeks ago, it is fair to say that Spring has finally arrived at Mandeville!
